Spring Break La Jolla Day 3

On Day 3 of our La Jolla trip, we walked along the coast to the world famous La Jolla Caves. At the end of the path, there’s a little souvenir shop and after paying $5, we went down the shop’s basement stairs and into one of the caves. The girls had a fun time trying to spook each other.

We saw lots of kayakers come into the cave and we also waved to many scuba divers and snorkelers.

Back up to the light.

We walked to the beach and explored more of the caves. The girls were occupied for hours exploring the tide pools, caves, and watching the enormous sea lions.

We watched this little guy sunbathing.

The girls thought it was hilarious to see sea lions randomly popping out of the water.

The sea lions were obviously very used to people. I kept having to grab Meredith and pull her away because she kept getting too close.

Amelia was proud to have found so many little crabs.

We did naps in our room and then headed out to walk around the downtown, which was adorable and trendy. We ate some delicious tacos at Puesto and the girls wolfed down their very large kids meal.

We had our fair share of tantrums, bumps and bruises.

Gelato makes everything better.

The grassy park right by the cliff had so many fun trees to climb. Dr. Seuss lived in La Jolla and the trees at this park were supposedly the inspiration behind the Truffula trees in the Lorax. s

We love La Jolla.

Lots of love,
