Cuties and Carousels

S and A convinced me it was high time we planned a girls outing at the mall, and who better to share it with than the girls’ personal mentor/cheering squad/confidante, Marisa, and french tutor/travel guide/health coach, Meredith?  You know you’ve got true friends when they’ll ride the carousel with you no less than three times!
Once we arrived at South Coast Plaza, the girls showed Marisa how big they’ve gotten as they pushed their stroller around the mall. I kid you not–as soon as I let the girls loose, they headed STRAIGHT for the Tory Burch store. They are their mama’s daughters! So proud.
The girls fought over Marisa’s attention since she’d be leaving for UCLA in a few days. I reassured them that she’s only an hour away, which quelled their tears for a bit.

While waiting for Meredith to finish her teacher duties, we hung out at the Disney store where the girls had absolutely no idea who any of the characters on the big screen or any of the stuffed creatures were.

First go-around on the carousel.

Amelia thought riding the horse up and down was quite thrilling, while Samantha got bored (scared?) after a few minutes and started screaming.
She liked the carousel a whole lot better once I let her sit on this non-moving bench alone.

She did let me join her for a selfie.

Meredith has arrived!

Apparently, this was Meredith’s first time riding a carousel (who knew?) She looked a little unsure of the whole thing at first.

Samantha: WHAT DO YOU MEAN SHE’S NEVER RIDDEN A CAROUSEL? THAT DOES NOT EXACTLY BREED CONFIDENCE. GET ME OFF THIS THING!

Best carousel ride ever.

Amelia was happy to show Meredith the ropes.
Your job is to make sure I don’t fall off.
For our third and final time on the carousel, the girls convinced Meredith she should try out the horse for herself. Meredith: What have I been missing ALL my life?!
Good times were had by all.

The first of hopefully many times riding carousels with these lovely ladies.
Lots of love,
