Night Games

Last night, Amelia played a little game with me, which she found extremely entertaining.

After feeding her at 1:30 a.m., I put her back in the bassinet and turned off the lights. Pretty soon, she started grunting, squirming, and flailing her arms so that they touched the sides of the bassinet, creating more noise. After about five minutes of the ruckus, I sleepily reached for the remote to the ceiling fan light, turned it on, and peered over the side of the bassinet. There Amelia slept, perfectly quiet and still. I turned off the light and rolled over in bed. IMMEDIATELY, the same grunting, squirming, and wiggling commenced. It was as if she was learning to crawl in there or something! Again, I waited about five minutes until turning on the light. Yep, there lay Amelia, completely still! I swear she had a little grin on her face too. Her little game went on until about 2:30 a.m. when we both apparently fell asleep since I don’t remember anything after that.

Apparently, the late-night partying had no effect on her energy level when she woke up in the morning.

 NOT AMUSED, Amelia. NOT AMUSED.

Lots of love,

  1. HA! That is so funny. It's so shocking when a little baby suddenly becomes a PERSON with a sense of humor. Hopefully she can play her games during daytime soon…
At least she's absolutely adorable regardless of her sleeping habits, right? šŸ™‚
